Windows 8 build 8423 is a build of Windows 8, which was uploaded to BetaArchive on 16 January 2019. It is only available in the Croatian language for the x86 architecture.

New features
This is the first build to have the message nudge sound; However, it is named as Windows Notify Messaging Nudge.wav and similar to the RC message notification but a 1-note sound, it is the same until the build 8438, before being changed to the RTM Version and renamed to Windows Message Nudge.wav in the build 8441.
Bugs and quirks
Crash on startup
In VMware, this build can sometimes crash on startup with a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE bugcheck. Restarting will fix the problem.
Touch Keyboard in Setup
Touch Keyboard only works a single time and will not work after pressing again. To fix this, get out of the Product Key section and then go back to it again (note that the same will still happen if Touch Keyboard was closed).
