Internet Explorer 7 是 Internet Explorer 的第七个版本。它与 Windows Vista 和 Windows Server 2008 一起作为默认浏览器提供，也可用于 Windows XP SP2 和 Windows Server 2003 SP1。Internet Explorer 7 放弃了对 Windows 2000 及更早版本的支持，Microsoft 引用了以前的系统中不可用的必要安全 API 改进。虽然已经尝试让它在这些操作系统中工作，但到目前为止被证明是不成功的。但是，此版本的 Internet Explorer 可以非正式地安装在 Windows XP Service Pack 1 上，并有解决方法。这是为 Windows Server 2003（含 R2）设计的最后一个 IA-64 版本的 Internet Explorer，且仅作为预安装在 Windows Server 2008 的 IA-64 版本中提供，这是因为 Internet Explorer 8 仅作为预安装在 Windows Server 2008 R2 的 IA-64 版本中提供。

在 Firefox、Google Chrome 和 Opera 推出选项卡式浏览后，此版本引入了此功能，它允许在一个窗口中浏览多个网页。

它是支持 Windows Server 2003 SP1 和 Windows XP Professional x64 Edition RTM 的最后一个 Internet Explorer 版本；后续版本需要 Windows Server 2003 SP2 和 Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2 或更高版本。
