Windows 7 Build 6801 是 Windows 7 的官方 Milestone 3 版本，面向 PDC 2008 的与会者发布[1]。这是自 Build 5840.16389 以来最后一个使用 Windows Vista 的“Aurora（极光）”桌面壁纸并设置为默认版本的版本，之后在下一个版本中更改为“Betta fish（斗鱼）”桌面壁纸。

安全更新

新增功能和更改

Windows 恢复环境

从板载 Windows RE 分区启动时，现在启动启动修复而不是系统恢复选项。需要取消启动修复才能访问恢复选项。

个性化

  • 现在可以选择多个壁纸作为默认壁纸，它们将在用户设置的特定时间间隔后旋转。
  • 个性化控制面板小程序从 Starter SKU 中删除。

Windows 邮件和日历

Windows Mail 和 Windows 日历应用程序变成了无法正常工作的存根，因此无法再打开。不过，它们的其他文件仍然存在。

Internet Explorer

虽然版本号从 8.1 降至 8.0，但收藏夹栏中添加了“建议站点”下拉列表。

Windows Media Player

删除了更改 Windows Media Player 库中背景图形的功能。

Bug

  • 移动桌面小工具时可能会遇到稳定性问题。
  • 与 Build 6780 和 Build 6776 非常相似，由于 Windows 安装程序处理磁盘卷的方式存在问题，因此无法升级到此版本。
    • 从 Build 6776 升级不会遇到此 bug。
  • 在“入门”中，缺少“了解 Windows 中的新增功能（Find out what's new in Windows）”下方的文本，这会导致显示占位符文本。
