Networks are no longer categorized by overall speed in the Network Connections Control Panel applet, and it is no longer possible to manually configure driver update settings via the System Properties applet.

Links to documentation are no longer present at the bottom of the home page. It is now possible to enable firewall protection for specific network adapters, and computer- and user-specific connection authorization rules have been added to Internet Protocol Security (IPsec) settings. A custom security certificate can no longer be defined as an authentication method in firewall rules and within IPsec settings. Connection security rules can now have specific networking protocols and address ports assigned to specific endpoints, as long as an applicable protocol type is defined. Rule exemptions and authorization requirements can now be applied against connections made through an IPsec network tunnel.

Settings for secured connections during inbound/outbound rule creation have been placed into a separate dialog. Encrypted connections can now use null encapsulation, and both computer parties can now dynamically negotiate an existing connection.

Connected networks are now displayed in the Firewall Monitor.
