Windows Media Player 9 系列（代号为 Corona）[1]是发布于 2003 年的 Windows Media Player 版本。它是支持 Windows 98 第二版、Windows Me 和 Windows 2000 的 Windows Media Player 的最后一个版本。它包含在 Windows Server 2003 的 RTM 版本中。它还包含在 2004 年 2 月发布的 Windows 98 第二版 Build 2222B 和 Windows Me Build 3000A 的 Windows 安全更新 CD 中。这是适用于 Mac OS 的 Windows Media Player 的最新版本。
在 Windows XP 上安装 Service Pack 2 或 3 会将 Windows Media Player 8 替换为此版本。根据 Microsoft 的说法，这样做是为了修复 Windows Media Player 8 中存在的安全漏洞。如果用户想要删除 Windows Media Player 9 系列，Microsoft 建议卸载 Service Pack。[2]
它已被 Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 中的 Windows Media Player 10 系列取代。要在 Windows Server 2003 上恢复 Windows Media Player 9，Microsoft 建议卸载此操作系统的 Service Pack 1 或 2。
