║ │ 1. Pkunzip into a temp directory example "pkunzip *.zip d:\temp │ ║
║ │ 2. unarj it "arj x -v -y osr2post.arj" │ ║
║ │ 4. Run SetupM.exe from DOS or Setup.exe from Win95. │ ║
║ │ 5. When its 99% installed, it asks for 3 files- 2 arrow_1 files and │ ║
║ │ CSWin.exe. Hit SKIP for all 3. These are Compuserve files and │ ║
║ │ both CompuServe and AOL packages were removed. If you get a VXD │ ║
║ │ error when loading from DOS, When you reboot it will work fine. │ ║
║ │ 6. To make sure that it updated your system, go to Control Panel │ ║
║ │ and go to system and look at the number. If it says │ ║
║ │ 4.00.950.b or go to dos prompt and type VER if it says 4.00.1111 │ ║
║ │ that means its installed fine and is the updated and the right │ ║
║ │ version. │ ║

║ │ Osr1 is 950.6 with this service pack dumped into the dirs and burn │ ║
║ │ onto a CD and sold to computer mfgs as a marketing perk to keep the │ ║
║ │ newest computers with the newest version of 95 ( it wazn't spoz │ ║
║ │ 2 break as much ) │ ║

║ │ The whole time this had been going on ppl had been working on NEW │ ║
║ │ version of windows 95 that grew up from code that came from before │ ║
║ │ windows 95 was released insuring all new features integrated exactly. │ ║
║ │ This means that most of the system files have been revamped or are │ ║
║ │ totally new. The way they work with one and other is much smoother. │ ║
║ │ So less stuff breaks....yah right!! │ ║

║ │ Of course with all that new code and features they had to really │ ║
║ │ work it to what it is now. This is OSR2 There have been 4 betas and │ ║
║ │ 1 release copy(this is it) that MS will be selling to computer mfg's │ ║

║ │ release another service pack to add to 950.6 but they havent been │ ║
║ │ working real hard on it, IF they are ! but then if you want all the │ ║
║ │ new integrated parts it much better to get this) │ ║

║ │ OSR2 dev/test group find. They are JUST NOW STARTING TO work on │ ║
║ │ making it a pkG. its not even a alpha yet. │ ║
