Windows 11 build 26083 is an internal build of Germanium, the 24H2 development semester of Windows as a service. An Asus OEM-customized copy of this build and its associated Windows Preinstallation Environment image were unintentionally uploaded to publicly-facing recovery infrastructure alongside builds 26090 (ge_current) and 26096 (ge_current) sometime during March 2024, and was later discovered on 9 June 2025.
As the build itself comes from a development branch that is intended for recurring feature development, it notably includes several features that were either not included by default in public branches until they were later rolled out to Windows Insiders or are reserved for internal Microsoft use, including anti-leak mechanisms that were originally introduced in the initial Windows 11 release, an early version of the Recall feature (and associated test functionality), and an internal feature control mechanism that is part of the Settings application.
Hidden features
Leak prevention
This build includes leak source detection mechanisms intended to deter Microsoft employees from publishing material related to Windows development, first introduced in the original Windows 11 release. The implementation in this build is virtually identical to the version present in builds 21376 through 21990.
Windows Recall
An early version of Windows Recall is present in this build and will be enabled by default if the build is running on an ARM64 system that has a neural processing unit present. In this implementation, Recall is largely referred to as simply the letter "M", and lacks support for capturing snapshots in real-time unlike the implementation in build 26096 (ge_current). An additional application that tests the various workflow models used by Recall is present as a "Screen Understanding Test App" (SUTA), present in the system component MicrosoftWindows.Client.AIXTest.
