MS-DOS 5.00 build 333 is a pre-release build of MS-DOS 5, which was uploaded to a BBS on 24 August 1990. There are many changes compared to build 224.

Changes

  • File Manager now starts along with DOS Shell.
  • Microsoft Editor has been updated with new features.
  • Microsoft QBasic has been updated with different strings.
  • This is the first MS-DOS build to introduce the LH command which loads DOS drivers into the High Memory Area.

Unbootable disks

This build's disks are not bootable. This build needs to be upgraded from another MS-DOS version.

RemLine.BAS error

An "Advanced feature unavailable" error occurs while compiling RemLine.BAS.
