Home Server 控制台
这是最早引入 Home Server 控制台的可用版本，Home Server 控制台是一个仪表板用户界面，允许管理员配置服务器的各个方面，例如备份关联计算机的内容、管理连接的服务器磁盘以及创建和修改用户帐户的能力。用户可以远程登录联机服务器仪表板，在服务器上托管个人文件共享，并将图像发布到 Internet —— 所有这些都通过使用 Home Server Connector 软件实现。
Windows 安装程序
与其他 Windows Server 版本相比，安装过程的安装结构明显不同。与基于 Windows Server 2003 代码库的其他 SKU 版本（如 SBS 2003，它充当 Windows Home Server 的基础）不同，此版本中的安装过程使用 Windows Vista 预安装环境。用户界面设计看起来与 Windows Server 2003 的安装过程基本相同，只是在以后的版本中引入了不同的背景图像。
