模板:Infobox MS-DOS version MS-DOS 6 is a family of versions of MS-DOS, initially released in March 1993, with updates being released until June 1994.
MS-DOS 6.00 was released in 1993. This version included many new utilities and features:
It was heavily criticized as buggy by the press, primarily due to file corruption issues with DoubleSpace (disk compression utility based on Vertisoft's DoubleDisk) and the lack of tools to repair such issues.[1]
This version includes several new full-screen applications licensed from third party vendors, including Microsoft Defrag (DEFRAG.EXE) and Microsoft Backup (MSBACKUP.EXE) both licensed from Symantec, as well as Microsoft Anti-Virus (MSAV.EXE) licensed from Central Point Software.
New external commands have also been added: CHOICE.COM for interactive option selection in batch files, DELTREE.EXE for removing directories recursively, and MOVE.EXE for moving files. The CD-ROM extensions (MSCDEX.EXE) and SmartDrive (SMARTDRV.EXE), which were previously available separately via other Microsoft or other products, are now also included with the base MS-DOS install.
A loading message ("Starting MS-DOS...") has been introduced, during which the system waits two seconds for a key press. Pressing F5 skips the processing of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT, while pressing F5 enters interactive boot with the system asking whether to execute each line or not. Holding Ctrl while pressing either will also disable DoubleSpace.
MS-DOS 6 introduces the ability to define a startup menu (internally called MultiConfig), which allows the user to select which drivers and application run on startup based on the menu item they select. This was originally a feature planned for a major MS-DOS release codenamed "Jaguar", which would have first succeeded MS-DOS 5 and later MS-DOS 6, before being incorporated into Windows 95.[2]
MultiConfig introduces several new keywords in CONFIG.SYS for configuring the startup menu. The different configurations are then declared by using INI-style sections in CONFIG.SYS. The startup menu itself is declared in a [menu] section, and the [common] section can be used for statements that apply to all configurations.
Relatedly to this, a loading message ("Starting MS-DOS...") has also been introduced during which the system waits two seconds for a key press. Pressing F5 skips the processing of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT, while pressing F5 enters interactive boot with the system asking whether to execute each line or not. Holding Ctrl while pressing either will also disable DoubleSpace.

MS-DOS 6.20 was released in November 1993. Microsoft skipped the 6.10 version number as a marketing response to IBM PC-DOS 6.10, which was released at the same timeframe. After complaints from users about data loss, DoubleSpace was finalized. The SCANDISK program has been added, and DISKCOPY and SmartDrive have been improved.

MS-DOS 6.21 was released in March 1994 specifically to remove DoubleSpace due to legal injunction by Stac Electronics over the use of Stacker code in DoubleSpace; during the interim period, the replacement software, DriveSpace was not yet ready.[3]

MS-DOS 6.22 was generally available in June 1994, three months after 6.21. MS-DOS 6.22 shipped with "Enhanced Tools", including a disk compression tool known as DriveSpace, which was free from Stacker code. An included supplemental disk also ships with copies of tools dropped from the previous version of MS-DOS, which includes the DOS Shell and EDLIN.
