New features and changes
User interface
Unlike in previous versions of Internet Explorer, the Platform Previews of version 9 (except Platform Preview 5 which was released as Beta 1) shipped with a minimal user interface focusing on the rendering capabilities of the web browser. Using the web browser is solely handled over a menu bar with few functions, other navigation and status bars are not present. Opening web pages is handled over a separate dialog which can be brought over the File menu, going back or forth between visited web pages is as not possible as accessing browsing history or setting and managing bookmarks.
This minimal user interface has been kept until Platform Preview 7 and was later reused for pre-releases of Internet Explorer 10.
A mouse pointer has been added to the original icon as well to brand the Platform Previews.
Bugs and quirks
As SVG support is premature at this point, respective files will not get rendered properly.
