A preliminary version of the Avalon user interface framework is included and is used to implement the new [[Windows Sidebar]] and Desktop Properties. The [[Windows Sidebar|Sidebar]] is empty upon enabling and similarly to later builds, it can be combined with the taskbar, which enables a new Start button design also found in later builds. A new virtual desktops feature is also accessible from the Sidebar.
